I picked up a fairly decent Browning Model 1955 .380ACP yesterday. I carried one for an off-duty gun during the first few years I was with the CHP. So, its purchase could represent some kinda pitiful attempt at recapturing my youth. But, beyond that, it is an absolutely outstanding example of JMB’s design genius, being a slightly updated version of his elegant Model 1910. A Model 1910 was the pistol chosen by assassin Gavrilo Princip to start World War I, if that’s any recommendation.

That's a beauty. I really like all the early Browning designed pistols.

Nothing pitiful about it. A fine, slick vehicle to reach back, grab the good stuff and drag it into the present you.

Grats Exchipy, I kind of think I "need" one of those myself.

I've had a couple over the years, excellent pistol; quite reliable.

I've had a couple over the years, excellent pistol; quite reliable. I took it out for a test drive today. With its itty bitty sights and heavy trigger pull, precision shooting is pretty much out of the question, though it didn’t do too bad at 7 yards. But, it certainly promises a proper point and click interface. And, no failures of any kind today.
Every day’s an adventure.
