Has anyone used the 180 Scenars in their 7 PRC? I use the 139’s in my 6.5 Creedmoor and the 150’s in my 7-08. Looking for a target/hunting bullet. They seem very accurate and not fussy when working on a load.
I have H1000 on hand. Thanks

Not yet in the PRC, but have been shooting it quite a bit in the 7 SAUM. My 7 PRC loadwork to date has been with the 175 ELDX/180 ELDM and the 180 ELDM shoots great. As soon as I get back to working with it, the 180 Scenar and 175 ABLR will be my focus.

Thanks. Those 180 Scenars are not easy to find, but I got some.

I have 190gr Berger Hybrids, 170gr Hammer Hunters and 175gr ABLR ready to go in 7mm PRC ADG brass using H1000, H4831sc and Retumbo. Been looking for the 180gr Scenars, but haven't gotten any yet.
Still have a bunch of factory Hornady 175gr ELD-X and 180gr ELD-M ammo. In the factory, the 180's are more accurate.

Would we say, the 180 Scenars L (7-Rem Mag) are on the same playing field as is the 155-L in a 308 Winchester? The 155 have worked great for me as it has for others on this site. Just thought I would ask, not meaning to run over the OP. I was wondering how it performed on game.
Thanks!

Not sure about the 180 Scenar, but the 139 and 220's have been excellent for me so far. A fella I know used the 150 in a 7 WSM with great results on elk this season as well. I can't see the 180 being bad I guess.

I did measure the ogive between the 136 L's and the 139's and it is different.

Son shoots them at 2900 or so from 7mm Remington Magnum with RL26 or H1000. They've been deadly to 700 yards on numerous bull elk, black bears and mule deer. Typically mushrooms very well and penetrates well. If I was building a 280 Remington, 7mm PRC, 7mm Remington Magnum, it would be the bullet I started with.

I'm looking to de-neuter my 7mag as well.

Nice, I have an older Browning Abolt II medallion 7mag with Boss that I started messing with again. Got it back when the Boss 1st came out in early 90's and wasn't until just recently, I started using my Tikka 308. My browning mag can be modified to handle 3.714" but need to verify the action. I've been looking for 150's for a while let alone the 180's. I wanted to get some to measure my chamber to see if I could seat them to the neck / shoulder junction or not. I'm thinking I'll hit the lands before I run into mag constraint issues. I've been messing with the 162 eld-m's with H1000, but considering how well the 155 scenars shoot in all my 308's, I figured I'd give them a shot in my 7mag.

Got to the range today. The 180 Scenar hand loads were more accurate than the factory 180 ELD M’s.
The factory ELD M’s averaged 2888 fps
The 180 Scenars with 66.5 grs of H1000 averaged 2950 fps
The 180 Scenars with 67.0 grs of H1000 averaged 2993 fps and I stopped there.
Both loads shot well. Bullets were seated .002 off of a kiss. I am going to try .0017, .0023 and .0025 off with one of the two mentioned charges. BTW, I have a 26” Bartlein.

Handloads 3/4"
Factory match 1.5" very surprised. The factory ELD X gives up 3/4" but velocity was not there. Those bullets suck for Elk!

Sounds like the Scenars are acting like typical Scenars, they shoot.

Whoops! I re read my post. Meant to say that I will try .017, .020, .023 and .026 off of the kiss. Added an extra zero in there!
