Like old laundry service towels for hotels and such.

I used to be able to find some for car and dog towels, etc. But am having a hard time locating a place that sells these. I know they are out there....somewhere. But where?

Anyone know a good source?

(I'm almost afraid to use a question mark in my thread title now... But this is a serious thread.) wink

The stiff, crunchy kind, like my wife used to find under her ex-husband's side of the bed? 🤭

If you know anyone that works in a hospital, they should be able to snag you an armload of used hand towels (called "huck towels").

The "Mainstays" brand at Walmart are dirt cheap and work great for anything towel or dish rag related that you don't want to use your good stuff for. It never breaks my heart to just throw one away that's too grungy to run through the laundry. I keep em in my shop as semi disposable rags.

I got a huge bag from a tanning salon. A friend was here last week mentioning where he got a bunch and I forgot, sorry.

I used to buy a worn out clean roll from the American Linen route driver for 20 bucks, clean used 100% cotton coveralls from 10 to 20 bucks.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Good morning to you sir, I trust the last day of the first month is behaving for you, barring the towel shortage of course.

As flintlocke mentioned, we've got Canadian Linen and Cintas up here that do uniforms, mats and shop towels and they always had towels that were being taken out of rotation.

Now sometimes a paint supply vendor will be purchasing the white cotton ones for stain wiping rags, but anything with dye in it should be fair game from an industrial supply place such as American Linen or so I'd think.

That's where I'd start my quest anyways sir.

Hope that helped and good luck with the search.

Dwayne

My neighbor works in hospitals. I keep his drive clear of snow (10minutes, max - when I do mine), and a couple times a year I get a box of these. Blue.

For smaller towels (14" x 17") we buy cotton terry towels from Costco. We use them on our fishing boat and throw them away after a day. They come 52 to a bag.

Talk to the mechanic shop or implement dealer. They have a service that cleans uniforms and shop towels. They stop weekly. Bet they would have some cheap

We also have a store in town like a good will. The little old ladies cut up sweaters and shirts that are unsellable. A full grocery store bag is a dollar.
