I recently traded for this very nice S&W Model 41 and was wondering what year it was manufactured? Prefix is TAL Hopefully someone has access to serial number / mfg. dates info.

The Standard Catalog shows that as 1986.

Same year I graduated High School - sure couldn't afford one then! 37 years late to the party, but better late than never. Wonder what they sold for back then? Thanks.

They were a lot cheaper, back then. I remember regularly seeing used 41s for sale between $350-500. My dad and I each bought used ones for $350, around 1993-4 timeframe. Mine is not finicky with ammo, at all, but my Dad's is. His is very picky.
