Yep, dad had one of those, and many more along the way. Once the Interstate speed limit hit 75 he didn't figure he needed one anymore. Set the cruise @ 78-79 and never worry. However, in the days of 55MPH highways and being a traveling salesman, the Fuzzbuster was a necessity.

I had a little later version. Worked well until we got hit by lightning, in the truck. It appeared they didn't hold up well to voltage surges. Neither did the old radio-telephone.

Approximately what year would the one in the OP picture have been manufactured?

I've heard of them but don't recall ever seeing one.
I had a radar detector -can't remember the name of it - it saved me a few times.

I had one of those and then upgraded to the Passport. Car got broke into one night and when I reported it to the insurance company I was given a choice. They would replace it and drop my insurance or I could eat the loss and keep my insurance.

I would guess dad had one like the OP in the late 70’s. Then I remember him having an Escort w/amber light about 1/3 the size of your average CB radio. There may have been a few in between but he had that Escort a long time.

I had one in 1985 when I was in AIT. I went home on the weekends and used that in the car running back and forth on I70 between Baltimore and Breezewood. Sucker went off every time i got near a hospital! I never put much faith in it, and on170 the flow of traffic is 15 mph above the posted speed limit!😀 SO’s the Turnpike and everything else now! Reon

My dad still uses a "fuzzbuster" in every car he has. LMAO. Of course they're new but it sounds like an arcade when he's driving.

I still have one in the console of my truck. It’s moved from truck to truck for probably 35 years. I don’t think it’s been plugged in for the last 25 years.
