Is there another powder shortage in the works? Has it been discussed here? Several sources have said it's already here, not affecting retail market until this fall based on current inventory. What says the illuminati?

There was a post I saw a couple of days ago regarding the powder situation and it's not pretty. Seems all the powder companies have a shortage of the nitrocellulose which is the basis for making smokeless gunpowder. Seems we and most other countries have been buying nitrocellulose for Russia and China. Russia needs all they can make with that war on the Ukraine. China is apparently stockpiling it for their own needs. Same with the Europeans. Guess we don't make much of that stuff here. Anyway, according to the post, most, if not all is going directly to the military and when push comes to shove, the military always get first dibs. We that handload our ammo are at the very lowest on the food chain. Frankly, I seriously wonder if things will ever get better?

The run on ammo in Kommiefornia is gonna stress the system the world over.

Fats there’s a huge distributor who has long had TONS of a certain budget 9mm in stock.

I was sitting with a buddy this morning and he ponied up and ordered a case (a lot for him)

I got home today and checked stock just out of curiosity and they were completely sold out. We’re talking about 1000+ cases gone in the course of a day

People forget them CA homos like their guns too…

Powder is available if you are willing to pay the price but large rifle primers are as hard to find as an honest politician

Umpteen thousands of pounds fueling cartridges being sent to Ukraine and Israel!

I ordered 8lb’rs from powder valley not long ago. Looks like price is up $41 per 8lb since I got my order.

Just got done talking to a pretty big retailer about shotgun powder and he said in the last couple of days he has learn exactly what is being said on here.
Nitrocellulose is very limited and any that is available will be used on rifle and pistol ammo.
So for you clay shooting guys, if you know where to get shotgun powder, better do it today versus tomorrow...

Powder on Midsouth site jumped up to 56 dollars a pound from 43 a couple days ago. That was aa4350. Guess I should have made my order 3 days ago. Edk

I don't think it will ever be cheaper than it is now,sadly.

I'm going to take inventory of my shot shells tonight. I have a feeling I have enough to get me through this clay season, and enough non-tox for one or maybe even two waterfowl seasons, but need to officially count.

I do know this. Shells aren't getting cheaper, so buy em if you can.

Bought 1350 rounds of non toxic tonight. One nodak trip, one conservation season, a few duck seasons and I'll burn those up.

I scored a pound of Winchester 231 and a pound of Lever Evaluation today. And a box of Hornaday .44 XTP. Each were over $42. Now, if I can find a pound of Winchester 296, I'll be good for awhile.

Midsouth had it an hour ago. Free hazmat today too.

Grafs has some odd named large rifle primers. I think it is going to get bad enough that I started looking into the 223 rem. for deer hunting. I have 2,000 large and 2,000 small rifle and a few thousand small pistol. I need the same amount of bullets as primers, have enough powder for .243 WIn, and .270 Win. but only enough powder for 600 rounds of .223 Rem. The day will come when we will be shooting deer with .223 rem. cause 50 gr. in a .270 will use too much powder.. Hope not.
