Well I guess high prices is better than not available. They're around here for $77, I'm not a buyer but I suppose if I needed them I'd buy them at that.

I was checking, and they lasted about 18 hours.- Gone now, I have no dog in this fight. But I believe that slimmer times for ammo and reloading supplies are here.

I wouldn't want to bet against you on that. I tend to feel the same. It unfortunately could get worse. I'm grateful I can sit it out. Eventually will have to come up with more powder, but for now I'm good.

I put some in my cart just to see what they would cost if I was going to buy some. They had 10% off $200,so I put two in my cart. With 10% off, hazmat, shipping and tax would have run another $60.I tried to buy most of my powder and primers when they used to run free hazmat and free shipping. It really saves a lot. It's been several years now since I've seen free hazmat and shipping offered.Every once in a while I see free shipping or free hazmat, but not both.Maybe someday they will bring it back, but for the meantime I'm thankful for what I already have.If your looking, this site is good. You can sign up to receive alerts when products come back into stock, but often by the time you check,it's already sold out.

Anyone have problems using CCI 34 primers in place of standard LR primers

CCI 34s are a magnum primer. The military wants their ammo to go off in any kind of weather. They are not so much interested in accuracy, so use a magnum primer.

Back off a bit and work up. Yes they are “magnum primers” but there is no reason they should not work just fine for casual use or hunting. I have 3k of the #34 in reserve but I’m still hoping I don’t run out of the standards.

That's where I'm at. Don't think I'll run out of standard LR but who knows.

Not #34's but I have 7K of the Fed 215 and 3K of the CCI 250 if I ever need them. Primers are primers and it's what was available at a local shop during the extended time that you could not buy any LR period, that concerned me, so over time I bought a brick or 2 a month of the magnum for just in case.

Paid $45 a brick for most of them. Another one of those things I kind of felt silly about at the time but don't feel silly now. Don't know when I'd get to them for any serious use but I suppose I will someday and they aren't costing me a dime in the meantime. Nothing happens without a primer so it was a cheap just in case peace of mind.

I can't believe it, but Bass Pro Shops was selling them for 79 locally.

a few of us, were thinking ahead... I stocked up monthly buy spending $100 a month, under Trump on primers and bullets.
Figured when prices dropped under Trump, that eventually the democRATs would get the White House sometime in the future... and so I took advantage of the opportunity when it was in front of all of us, but few responded.. thankfully. More available for me.

I stocked up right after Sandy Hook.... bought 5000 Wolf SRMag primers for $27/1000. And picked up most of my others for $35-$40/1000. I picked up a good bit of the old military pull down powder when it was available also. It's all BLC-2 ball powder that works in a wide variety of cartridges. It may not be "Best" in them but will work in most of them.I should never have to buy powder for any 5.56 plinking ammo ever again. 😉
Had to do some trading to get me some LPM primers after a n acquisition of a Marlin 1896 in 44Mag but I'm pretty set there also now.
I believe I could possibly never buy factory ammo again and my family will be able to hunt long after I'm gone.... but I still will if I find a deal

The stuff appears and disappears so often. It's hard to know, will this be the last chance to top off? I"m good, I shouldn't need to ever load hunting ammo ever again. But at some point it will be time to put the guns up for sale. Having ammo will hopefully make them saleable.

Couple weeks ago, I got 6k CCI 200s for $89/k at Cabelas in Hamburg Pa.
Went back a week later and got 7k Winchester LRPs. Same price. Last April, at another shop, I got 3k Federal 210s for $115/k and considered myself fortunate.

Just how big is Aroostook County you ask?

a little bit bigger than St. Louis County MN....

both are the biggest two counties east of the Mississippi...

I've hunting in St Louis County a lot, but never in Aroostock County Maine.

Wouldn't mind trying a hunt up there one year, but I'm running out of time for that... especially living in Oregon.

My Uncle lives in Tillamook. Believe me , you have much better hunting and fishing than we do. Maine only seems like a wilderness to those east coasters who have never been out west.

I use them with TAC in the 308 and with H4350 in the 30-06. They're fine. If you're chasing accuracy, then focus on bullets.

Nothing wrong with using magnum primers in standard cartridges. Been doing it for years.
In some loads using a magnum primer is the key to better accuracy compared to standard primers(all else being equal).
