We have all Dewalt battery operated power tools. Most work fine. Had a 20V power saw fail after about an hours use. Under warranty so we sent it to their repair center and were told they would rebuild it for $149. Bull crap and a big fit thrown to the manager and they finally replaced it. Bought a pole saw last December. It quit this morning. Can't get any help.....
My neighbors have all switched to Milwaukie. What do you think is the best brand? We are switching from Dewalt!

Milwaukee FUEL, they've proven themselves over the last decade in Construction. Even if some company twats still get kickbacks from Makita or DeWalt.

Have had good luck with all Ryobi 18 volts tools.

For a bitch that doesn't work long, hard or well... they suit you.

I bought my first Milwaukee early 2000s when the 28 volt kit came out. It's still going strong with the exception of the drill that walked away. Since then everything I own has been Milwaukee. Milwaukee has also stayed with the same battery platform instead of coming out with all the different styles Dewalt has came out with

Got a toolbox full of them. Batteries are expensive.

Every time a battery powered or corded tool fails I replace it with a Milwaukee. No regrets so far.

I’ve had a bag of them for at least 25 years now. The old nicad batteries sucked. I bought new lithium ion batteries and a charger, and they all work great now.

I wouldn’t buy Ryobi for making a living tools, but for occasional around the house use, they work fine and are cheap.

Company tools are Milwaukie and they have been very good.
My personal are Makita and they have been excellent.
I think Makita is the leader in cordless tools. They have the biggest inventory of cordless tools.
I even charge my cell phone when in the field with a Makita battery and USB adapter.

Never mix brands if you can help it.
You want all your batteries and chargers to interchange without using adapters.
"Bare tool" prices are often a bargain if you have developed a battery inventory.

If possible, don't store your batteries out in the cold.
Store them indoors if you can, they'll last longer.

I'm not satisfied with DeWalt, especially with the half inch impact

I’ll often buy a cheap tool. If I wear it out or tear it up, I’ll replace it with a quality tool. There are very few tools I use enough to wear out, so to me, it doesn’t justify the extra expense of a higher priced model.

I have most brands from indivual tool purchases over the years. I bought the ryobi cordless bag several years ago for strictly home light duty jobs. All the tools use the same battery and chargers. I added a tree sprayer, a dust buster, a hedge trimmer and a weed whacker all that came with the same battery and charger. Everything works well and I have several batteries and chargers to cycle through. The tools aren't of the same standard as Milwaukee or Dewalt but seem to work well for non commercial home use.

I get along with DeWalt.

Milwaukee Fuel at work. Used 3 shifts. 3/8 and 1/4 inch Impacts, 1/2 inch drills, 4.5 inch grinders. Used every 15 minutes on the line, for at least 10 minutes of run time. Something goes t!ts up they throw another Milwaukee at it, but it's pretty rare.

Every now and then they'll throw in a Dewalt grinder. It'll last maybe a week.
