Real nice switchbarrel rifle.

LAW (Legendary Arms Works) M704 controller round feed action with 3-position safety and Timney trigger. This action was designed by Ed Brown. The action has been Cerakoted in a Tungsten finish. This is a magnum length action, so very flexible regarding COAL for chamberings like the 280AI.

Pinned WTO (West Texas Ordnance) Switchlug, which allows easy barrel swaps with only a T25 Torx wrench.

Pac-Nor #4 10 twist 22" stainless steel barrel chambered in 338RPM. 338WM ballistics, but with an unbelted case and a .473 boltface. .75MOA with less than 75 rounds down the tube.

The .473 boltface allows many other barrels/chamberings to be added, (25-06, 270Win, 30-06, 280 and 280AI) and due to the CRF action, even short action rounds (6.5x284, 308, 243) feed very well. I have tested 270Win, 30-06, 308, and 25-284, and all fed flawlessly.

Good Peterson 338 RPM brass is available at this link CLICK HERE

The Pendleton hand laid synthetic stock is both strong and light weight. The stock is very nicely bedded to the action. The stock is inlet for a Sendero barrel contour, allowing carbon fiber barrels to be used. The stock has two tapped holes near the front swivel for a rail.

An excellent condition 700BDL stock is not included, but is available to the buyer for an additional $75. This stock will require very minimal inlettind for the (thicker) switchlug, and bedding. As can be seen in the pictures, the stock is a very good match to the Pac-Nor #4 barrel profile. There is one significant ding on this stock.

More pics available upon request.

$1175 shipped to your FFL from a non-FFL in CONUSA.

That seems like a good buy when you add up the parts. I have that action on a legendary 280 ai but I haven't shot it yet. I do like the features of that action like the safety and the placement of the extractor. They seem well designed I'm just not sure on the build quality because it's seems theres been some different runs of them over the years.

I think a 22" #4 is about perfect for a hunting rifle. Good luck on the sale. I should buy is but I've bought about 6 rifles the last month and need to sell a few of my older ones myself.

It has a Timney trigger.

I'll post a pic of the barrel in stock.

The barrel channel is oversized and if I only intended to use steel barrels I would glass it a little tighter, but if I wanted to keep carbon fiber barrels as an option I'd leave it alone.

This one runs really smooth, and feeds and ejects (low angle smile ) flawlessly, both 338RPM and many 30-06 based rounds I've tried.

As far as the value goes, I saw the 704 actions selling on special for $600 around Christmas without trigger or bottom metal, the switchlug is $250 installed, the barrel is about $500 with fit/chamber/headspace, and the stock is about $650. So I think it's a good deal. Add a 280 barrel and you're good for NA.

Actually I think it was $699 (was being conservative), and I haven't been able to find them again. I was seeing them on Gunbroker for $900 but not seeing them now.

Neither of those included trigger or bottom metal.
