I'm thinking about getting back into chunk gun target competition. I attended the Alvin York shoot in Pall Mall Tennessee for about 10 years until my cataracts got too bad to be competitive, with a .50 caliber flintlock with a 48" barrel. They're fixed now. I'm thinking about building an underhammer percussion rifle like some of the top shooters use, a huge action that takes a long, heavy barrel that attaches to the action with set screws. The ones I've seen are about 50% larger in all dimensions than one used on the smaller rifles. I could probably machine out my own, but if one is available commercially it would be a time saver. Thanks!

Never mind- - - -I've decided to build my own receiver out of 1 1/2" round stock. I can put the bend in the middle with a hydraulic press after heating the blank in a forge. I just commissioned a 1 1/2" diameter 48" long round barrel from Rice, 1:66 twist rate for patched round balls. My flintlock chunk gun has the same type of barrel, a 1 1/4" octagon 48" long, built by Ed Rayl. I'm pretty sure I can adapt a double set trigger to the underhammer action, with about a 2 ounce letoff on the set trigger.
