I have a very, very clean savage 340-A chambered in 30/30. I’d rate it at 97-98%

The first unconditional “I’ll take it” followed by a pm gets it.
I have many more pictures available via text or email if needed.
Must ship to an ffl or c&r who accepts from me (a non-ffl).
Sales to the lower 47 (No CA) and only where legal. AK will cost a bit extra for shipping.
Most forms of payment accepted.

Beautiful example 160!

I’m a sucker for vintage stuff that’s still in the box. Especially when it’s of the condition your example is in!

Thank you for sharing!

I was at a Gun Show and saw a absolute mint Savage 340 Deluxe in .22 Hornet for $650.00. This dealer had to several gun shows and never got it sold. So the next time I saw him the gun wasn't there and he finally sold it. I wanted it but thought it was too much money. I wish that I would have bought it.

Bump…. For a cool piece of “working class” deer hunting history. As mentioned above that Hornet is a Unique one I’ve not seen …. I’ve got the 340V in .225 gathering dust but not in even close to as superb condition as this specimen. Most of these guns were hunted hard. Good luck with your sale

Now that looks just like the one I was checking out last month. The shop has had it for a while. These rifles have a high cool factor, because they are unique and you don't see them often. You'll notice the bolt handle is different than the rifle in the OP. Not sure if it's because it's a Stevens, and the OP's is a Savage?

I haven't heard from Wonder since his 2/4/24 I'll take it messages. He's been on 24hrcf a few times since then but has not read/responded to private messages to finalize this sale. If anyone personally knows him or has a means to contact him directly, please let him know I'm waiting to hear from him.

Thanks for posting that jsgwoodsman. I was going to ask you the same thing.
I had sold .308 brass to Wonderer twice in the last month with smooth, perfect transactions paid to me through Venmo.
He contacted me on 02/04/2024 (same day he agreed to buy your rifle) asking if I had any more, and we agreed I'd supply him some. Haven't heard from him since - and no response to PMs. I'm kind of concerned that some serious misfortune may have happened to him.
Thought maybe I'd post a question to the classifieds and see if anyone has a clue.

Rex

The 340 30-30 was my first ever rifle; it accompanied my dad and I with his 06 many winters during deer season back when we actually had winter here in early 2000s upstate NY. Mine is from the early 50s/pre 64 and a tank, bought from an old farmer down the road who used to use it to put down cattle for slaughter, his son took his first deer with it and then it sat in his safe since the 80s before it came my way. Always wanted one in 22 hornet.
