Friday was the last day we had fishable ice here... got my feet a bit wet, but they were biting ok. Ended up catching around 10 gills on my way home from work. The ice is completely gone now.

Hour or so ago the dog resting on the couch looking out the picture window got up and busted out the dog door barking. The dog in the bedroom heard that and went out too. I got up from what I was doing to look, had to come back in to get the good camera.

I think I count 21.

Mild winter so far. Quite a few little ones in there so there may be good recruitment coming. Coyote populations seem to be down, as our rabbit and small rodent populations crashed a couple years back and haven't recovered. But, there's no season on bears in our area of the State and of course, there's no season anywhere here on cats.

How do you like to do those in the foil? Butter, salt, peppa, and a little garlic?

Indeed its not!
That place is about 100 miles west of del-rio. Whitetail and muley's. It's just hunting property. There's Aoudad in the canyon. Occasional pictures of axis. Neighbor had an elk this year on one of his cameras. Mountain lion are in and out of there also, and no telling what kind of random exotic might pass through from time to time. I did not go this year at all, been on crutches since December but I should be back in action this coming season. It's a 10hr drive for me, so I don't make it out there near as much as I should, but, its not a lease or anything. I bought it and I'm really not worried about not making it out there all the time to fill feeders and water trough's. It will be a nice set up for me and the kids later on. When I do go, I usually just sit on the lip of the canyon with some glass and see all kinds of critters.

My wife fishing the Kootenai. I was stuck in Kazakhstan that summer and never made it to Idaho. The only miss coming on 19 years of ownership.
