Hawaii has passed legislation keeping Trump or anyone else involved in “insurrection” from being placed on election ballots.
This one is different, it is passed by legislators and does not name Trump specifically.
This will take some time to get through the courts.
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.

There’s absolutely no freaking proof that Trump was involved in this “insurrection”!🤬
On the other hand, if justice is ever again served in this country, this law would automatically disqualify a bunch of democrats!😀

We should also eliminate ALL the people that Supported BLM and Antifa during their ralleys that burnt down Lord knows how many city centers over the last 5 years or so.... Those are insurrections..... NOT what they claim to be, that happened on Jan 6th 2021. Antifa and BLM supporters should never be put on a ballot every again, period. they are more guilty of insurrection than Trump and his supporters ever were....

Heck the small town I use to live in, back in Minnesota, had Fritz the Cat elected Mayor as a write in Candidate, 4 or 5 times in a row back in the late 80s, early 90s. So a voter can write in any candidate they want to. Each time tho, the town gave the Election Win to the second place candidate, due to them being a real person, not a cartoon character left over from the Hippie Days...

Unintended consequences there. "Involved in" can mean a very wide range of things. One can argue that Biden was "involved in" the Jan 6 protest because he benefited from it.

Looks like the state legislature has the say and could even have the state legislature make the choice for presidential electors without an election?
