I agree with that. My wife has a 2019 Highlander which hasn't really been any more or less reliable than anything I've had from GM or Ford. However, you'd think it was a BMW or Mercedes when it's serviced. It seems every time she takes it in for a "free oil change" they have at least 500 bucks of service they want to do. Iridium spark plugs have to be replaced at 60k miles (which is oddly low) and I nearly stroked when they said it was $850 to replace. I remember the days when you bought 8 spark plugs for 20 bucks and you had them in place in 45 mins if you were drinking beer while doing it. I watched a few videos on the process to replace the plugs on that Highlander. I'd seriously like to kick the engineer in the nads that made a 4+ hour (book) job from replacing 6 plugs. Ridiculous.

Back to the 2013 Denali.....we got ours with 115,000 on it. Immediately put in the disabler. Now has 155,000. No flat spots ever. I have to be careful when I first come off a light as it is so much more responsive than my 1987 suburban 350.

Regarding longevity.... that Suburban 4 x 4 is a 3/4 ton with a turbo 400. Has 472,000+ miles on it. Third engine with roller lifters, third tranny rebuild. Has a 1976 full float 14 bolt a former auto student and I built drum to drum decades ago with a locker aka dyneer no spin. It was originally in my 1973 4 x 4 suburban. I moved that killer axle to the 87. ( Former student owns a differential shop here in Tucson) That deer didn't stop the suburban from continuing even though they totaled it. I fixed the cosmetic stuff as no structural stuff was damaged. Didn't even dent the bumper with a 180 lb deer being hit at 65 mph. As you readers can figure I like GMs. Grinning here as wife likes all sorts of brands vehicles, she has a 65 mustang she owned since 66.

My truck, which I have mentioned here before is an 01 Sierra 4x4 2500 HD with ex cab. 6.0, of course with a 4L85E trans, 4.10s, and rear locker.

I got it almost two years ago from a good buddy who bought it new and is meticulous with maintenance and repairs. The meter says 140K. I put less than 4,000 on it in the last two years. The clear coat had peeled from the hood and top of the cab. I found a guy to repaint the affected portions, without having to pay for a full paint job. It is now in the shop getting new pads, rotors, and flexible brake lines replaced. I still need to find an upholstery shop to recover the bottom portion of the driver's seat.

This is the last truck I will ever own. As will the Denali be the last vehicle I need to buy for my wife.

Thursday, I drove the Denali sixty mile home from the shop. My oh my! This is the most powerful vehicle I have ever driven. I started it in the dealer's lot, and damned near broke all four wheels loose with the first press of the gas pedal.

The only possible disappointment is the One speed, full time AWD, just like a Lesburu. But I am sure it will suffice for our needs.

After my mechanic is finished with the truck, I will have him install the disable on the Yukon. Although I did not see any sign the AFM was activating on the drive home Thursday.

Good idea to deal with the afm before hand. I generally like GMs but I've seen so many have rocker and valve and push rod issues lately. My dad has a 6.2 in his yukon Denali and in his c8 vette and they've been good but I've seen a lot that haven't. I was at the dealers shop one day and they had 9 different trucks and Tahoes or suburbans lined up out back waiting for parts to rebuild the top ends. The sales guy said it wasn't that bad only a few had the issue and the shop manager said only buy the 3.0 diesel.
