I have $10 into a Sears (Weaver) 2.5X post and cross hair reticle scope. Only markings are "SEARS 2 1/2X" and "USA Pat. No.2949816" which should be a Weaver patent awarded in 1960.
The good: solid 95% exterior condition on the scope. No fogging, haze etc.
The bad: ocular lens has some chips missing along the outer edge

Iron Sites, LLC in Tulsa will refurbish and replace ocular for approximately $120 plus shipping to them with a 10-11 month turn around.

Is the scope worth fixing or does that price it above market value?

Thanks

If you want to use it, it may be worth it, but only you can make that judgement.

Iron Sight Inc. does good work, but you can't be in a hurry.

IMO use it as is or find another scope. It might be worth $75 in excellent condition. I have a nice 3x I paid $50 for several years ago

I’d run it as is. Do you notice the chips when using it or as you would use it? Having someone work on it may do more harm than good.

How would having Iron Sight Inc. refurbish the scope do more harm than good?

If they didn't think that they could fix it, they would just return it with a note. They stopped working on El Paso Weaver variables because they used up much of their inventory of parts.

I've had Iron Sight Inc. work on Denver Redfields and both El Paso and Japanese Weavers and have been pleased with the quality of work that they did. They aren't fast, but they're good.
