243 Model 7 about 100 yards through the shoulders. Have to appreciate these states that work to get our younger generation into the field.

Congrats on a great shot on a small target!

Just though of something I ran into. I ran into a young guy out on his own the first time and he did have a deer down. Problem was he was about clueless on how to field dress it. Seems dad taught him everything but hat so I gave him a lesson in it. Another time I took a guy out elk hunting with me that needed the meat, we were in the military then. Before going into the military he claimed to be a butcher. Left him to take a walk and heard him shoot. Didn't think much about it though. Got back and he was sitting near it talking to it. He hadn't started dressing it yet. Said he was just a butcher and he'd never skinned an animal. So I went to skin it for him. The guy started and quit, I looked and he cut off it's peter! I asked him what that ws about and he said someone told him that the first thing to do! Asked him if this was his first deer, nope. Killed a number of them but dad always field dressed them. never taught him a thing.

Perfect rifle, perfect caliber, perfect shot, perfect picture, and a perfect ending to what I'm sure was a great hunt! Congrats to the young man, and thank you for sharing.
