Glad someone has a reasonable post office. Ours are generally not. I needed about a 2 inch piece of tape the other day to secure a small priority box. The do it yourself station was down, so I had to take it to the counter. I asked the guy if he had a tiny piece of tape I could borrow, and he gleefully said nope, we don’t supply tape for free, but you can buy one of our rolls. They have a display right there at the counter of the tape for 3.99.
Same as mine.

I used USPS Priority letter (2-3 day) to mail a Bank Check on 1/23.

Dropped off at 2:28 pm, departed that PO at 4:01 pm.

1/27 it had the status "Moving Through Network, In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late". No updates since and still has the same status.

Stopped by my local PO two days ago and they said they can't see anymore than I can. They were very upfront saying there are issues. It's been roughly 16 days and there's no way to tell where it is.

I know how slow the PO is. Had a pistol shipped to me from NH , 1st PO it hit was about 15 miles from my PO. It then went around the world , back and forth to distribution centers , until it came To my home Yesterday. 1 day shy of 2 weeks.

UPS has been better , we ship weekly with UPS from my business , however very expensive.

UPS quoted me $900.00+ to ship 40 LBS to the DR , standard handling.

We get packages occasionally with duct tape , usually pretty sad .

DeJoy -- a Republican -- is running it. He wants to hamstring the PO as much as possible. Why? Well, he (and now his family) has vested interests in other carriers. The conflicts of interest with DeJoy heading the USPS run deep.

I recently sent a package 130 miles to forum member geedubya. It took over three weeks to get there. It seems like anything that goes through the North Houston Distribution Center gets delayed and/or misrouted.

On the flip side, I often send packages to family in Michigan, and they send stuff here as well. It's usually two business days after shipping that it gets delivered. Ditto to addresses in PA. A USPS Ground Advantage box that I mailed on a Monday to Michigan was delivered Wednesday. But those packages go through San Antonio and not Houston.

Other dependable options??????

Like UPS & FedEx that now require a contract to ship a firearm? Like The UPS Store that will not accept any firearm related items for shipment? Like independent shippers that up charge substantially for the same? USPS has been my most reliable & trouble free shipper for my FFL shipments & non-FFL.
