I once had a 70 Ranger in 6.5x55, the barreled action was a drop in fit in a 70 FWT stock.
I would assume that this rifle had the stock swapped to the synthetic, as all of the 70 Rangers that I recall seeing had wood stocks without any checkering. CDNN had hundreds of stocks for sale when USRA went out of business and they bought up a lot of guns, stocks, and miscellaneous stuff. They probably are still sell stuff that interests few people, like WSSM parts and stocks.
