My wife is Polish and I’m a Louisiana coonass. My career ruined my 1st marriage after 18 yrs. Life goes on. Me and my wife are one month apart in age, and we met on the internet. She was still in the military, stationed at fort polk. At the time I was doing a lot of hunting in Jasper, TX. I had to pass through Polk on the way to the lease sooooo…after several months I ended up being VERY delayed getting to jasper, also getting back home, depending on what duty she was assigned. When she got out of the army we moved in together and got married the next year and we ain’t looked back. She’s awesome, her and my kids love each other to death. How she came to the US of A and ended up being a combat veteran in our military is quite a story.

Actually met my wife in a internet chat room before dating sites on the internet was even a thing. I met her in an America Online chat room on dial up internet about 24 years ago. Chatted with her online off and on and talked to her on the phone some for close to a year before ever meeting her in person...We both even dated other people during that time frame, but both just enjoyed talking to each other as friends. Had a lot in common. I lived in Texas at the time and she was in Arizona.

She planned a trip to go to Vegas with one of her girl friends, and invited me to fly out to meet her in person, which I did, and we just hit it off. We spent 4 days together in Vegas, and a couple of weeks later she was coming to Visit me in Texas, and a couple of weeks after that I was flying to Arizona to visit her... Then she decided to move to Texas to live with me. Been together ever since and have moved to Arizona to be closer to her family..

It took me a long time to realize this, and I was embarresed for a time but after swallowing my pride, I signed up on e-harmony. It’s really hard for a 40yr old man to find “the one” in bar rooms. Don’t get me wrong, you can have a blast if you know what I mean, but 90% of it is short term, and some of us don’t have the time for that. I’ve learned if your’e honest in your interests and so on when making your profile, it's hard to go wrong when trying to find someone on the internet. Ive dated for a while by meeting women the old school way and nothing good came out of it.

College students - her group was having a Sadie Hawkins date event - a hayride. She asked me to be her date. 65 years ago.

She was at a bowling alley watching her Dad bowl in his work league. I was just a kid hanging out in the bowling alley playing pinball. That was 1976. Got married in 1981. Still together through thick and thin almost 43 years later.
