My buddy Danny’s younger sister, Carol.
I knew her name, but that was all. I was at the Ft Bedford Dance and asked her if she had seen her brother lately. Danny and I would usually get together there and have a couple beers before we headed for P-ville and the Summer Nationals.
While we were talking a slow dance started, and I asked her to dance.
I knew that “Footloose” was gonna be at the Drive In Friday. I asked her out while we were dancing and she agreed.
I didn’t say anything to Danny about this. Friday evening I picked her up in my Monte Carlo and we went in the Drive In about dusk.
Now I learned from The Old Man. When you get parked before the movie, you get out a bottle of Windex and some paper towels and clean the windshield. I was doing this and saw Danny sitting 4 rows back!😳
I told Carol, “I’ll be right back” and walked back to do his windshield!😀 His date for the evening was a 6 pack. I knew why he was there!
Carol and I had a pleasant evening. I’m always a gentleman with the ladies. I dropped her at her door and asked her out a second time. In a few months time we started going steady, and about a year later I bought her a ring.😍
We spent 24 happy years together.

High school friend. Never dated. Been married 27 years now

San Joaquin Delta College (JC) Sept. 1971 went out in Oct. Married 12/28/1971. 52 yrs.

Friends set us up......and I never forgave them..... :^)

Rolled in on a Friday night just about midnight. Ordered a beer, checked out the dance floor and saw her dancing with a couple other girls. She spotted me, came over and asked me to dance with her, told her she has the bluest eyes i've ever seen seen, kissed her, left with her, been together for 30 years. I wouldn't have what we have or be alive without her. Incredible wife.

I was at the store she worked at, and had to pee.
She was coming out of the bathroom as I walked in, it stunk so bad I spun
around leave, and fell. Knocking myself out.
When I came to she was kneeling over me, and I thought it was an angel.












That's what I told our daughter one night at supper, when she ask how we met.

Actually she worked with my sister, who fancies herself a matchmaker (divorced).
She gave me a number and said "Call this girl, I like her. You will too. She cooks, and changes the oil in her car."


30 years ago last November I knocked on her parents door, my life has been
better ever since.

Met at church. Knew each other for about 4 years before we got together. It's good to have a wife with the values as you.

Been married 28 years.

We knew each other in school but she was two years older then me so we didn't "date"

After my senior year I volunteered to coach a little league baseball team since I loved the game but had no connection to the league.

My now wife attended one of our games that was hosted in her home town and we started talking. Catching up since she left my high school two years prior.

About a year later I asked her to marry me and move in with me

Cold approach.

Gave her my card, told her to give me a call.

She did.

At a New Year's dance, put on by a feed/lumber store, for their customers.
We danced a bit, she was mad at her Dad, I said I'd take her home.
It was snowed in, and by the time I got her home by the only open road, it was 54 miles - each way.
I'd known her Dad and Grandad (an old cattle trader) for some years, so I asked for a date (she denies this), and showed up the following Friday.
That was Jan 5, 1974 - we got hitched Dec 20, 1975. 50 years together, married 48.
My old lady aunts swore it would never last - sometimes I think they were right!

I tell her that the only guys who married her, or her sisters, were the guys who could find their house the second time.

I was up in the AJRA rodeo in a town about 70 miles from where i was working on a ranch.
17 years old and prettyy cocky on my own her cousin introduced and it was sparks immediatly.
Her mom still hates my guts but ...........we wave been married 44 years on April 12th and both of her brothers
have had 3 wives each.
i am a blessed dude!

11th grade study hall Daniel High School in SC 1963; been together ever since.

At McDonald's June 5th,1968 she was two friends buddy I was with married one...failed in 2 months...I married one and the third bitch is still around here we think....been together ever since and married 53 years!

Live in the same apartment complex. Was in the pool and saw her walking back to her place. Few minutes later she came out to the pool and started chatting me up.

Biggest mistake in her life and the best thing that ever happened to me.

Actually Hunter Army Airfield at that time 1983, Camp Merrill came later.....but my youngest was born up here.

Met Kathy in a city park, we've been married 56 years this coming June.

Bio 101 class in college. Long hair down to her ass was a turn on for me. Fifty one yrs to date.

Met thru plenty of fish!
