I used to rush home from basketball practice on Friday night (iirc) so that I was showered and ready for Dukes of Hazard. Saturday mornings my schedule was Gilligan’s island, Flipper and Leave it to Beaver….then my weekend chores. After 12:00 noon I had to vacuum the house and dust and then I went outside and mowed or whatever dad had told me to do. After my chores I’d ride my bike to my friend’s house or he’d come over to mine and we’d shoot starlings until the crows came over to roost every evening.

Evening shows were The Waltons which we all watched as a family…or if dad was working it was us 5 kids and mom. The Love Boat and Fantasy Island were a couple of shows that I liked too. In later years dad and I would watch Cheers and Seinfeld.

Reading about all of these old TV shows made me think of the some of those fun theme songs.

Gilligan’s Island
The Flinstones
The Jetsons
Scoobie Doo
Miami Vice
Married with Children
The Dukes of Hazard
Cheers

Some of those theme songs were great.

Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

Cheers was a fabulous sitcom. Family Ties was another favorite of mine from that era, as was The Cosby Show.

I remember, My favorite Martian , The Virginian,Andy Griffith, Tarzan, My Three Sons, Perry Mason, . There was a show that I liked, but did not last long. I think it was Maya.It was about a boy in the jungle that travels I think on an elephant. I think tv back then had top notch writers. Simple topics with important meanings.

That's a pretty good list. The only one I watch now is 12 O'clock high. It comes on at midnight on Saturday nights. I do my best to stay up for it.

Edited to add Married with children. That has to be the best all time comedy show ever broadcast.
