Has anyone tried a Boyd's laminated stock on their Scout V2 rifle? I'm interested in the rifle, but don't care for the plastic stocks. If anyone has tried the Boyd's product, I'd be interested in your experience with it.

I have not tried it on my Scout, but I wonder if the Boyds buttstock is a monte carlo type. The plastic OEM stock has a small rise on it.

Great rifle for the $...I found the standard stock a bit long for me (with a heavy jacket ) I found a Youth stock & filled it with
spray foam...perfect..

The trigger is really nice...I picked my SS Fluted for $250 from a guy with 20rds thru it (wife didn't like recoil. Wanted a 350L)

They offer two styles, their Field Design with a lower comb and Sterling Buttstock with a higher comb and thumbhole. Forend can be ordered as take down or non-takedown.

No experience with this specific stock but have three other Boyd's stocks on bolt actions and a 10/22. They are very well inletted, nicely finished and shipped quickly, mine all arrived within two weeks of ordering them although I did choose their more common options. You can get them checkered or stippled. I went with stippling on one stock, it looks good and gives a good purchase.

I really have nothing bad to say about them at all, you get a good, functional stock for a very reasonable price.

The picture Boyds have on their website makes it look as though it has a bit of drop in the Field Design

I would be a little concerned about the drop in that stock as well. That is something I really don't like about my Henry.

It works for irons, and shotguns, but they should come up with something better for use with optics. Right now, they’re making a bunch of money for Beartooth Products.

I bought a Boyd’s for my Scout 45/70 conversion. Forearm fit great. Bolt hole for stock was crooked and cracked. After back n forth with Boyd’s they sent new buttstock. Color was way different than forearm. After some arguing with them I ended up with refund.

Thanks to all for the comments. I'm still undecided on what direction I'll go with this project, but your comments are much appreciated.
