Why wouldn’t you shoot it?
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Go to DI Products & get their rail type mount that fits the dumb dovetail & then you can use whatever picatinny, or Weaver style ring you want.

I used the J&P adapters with the burris sig rings on mine. Pretty popular setup. https://www.jnpgunsprings.com/search?keyword=11mm

Everytime I think it's 17HMR. Didn't think it was that popular, but if you can still find ammo, that is a good sign. Good luck with your rifle. I just buy the rail mount rings, like stronghold, but those adapters that DIP sells seems like a good option. That is a beautiful rifle, it deserves to be used.

I have a pair of them I bought for my 550-1… haven’t mounted them yet, but they should work fine.

Haven't decided if I'm going to shoot it yet I couldn’t do that…I’d always have that nagging question rolling around in my head.

I used Burris rimfire Signature rings. As far as a scope, I'd pick whatever variable power with adjustable objective fits your budget.

Whatever way you go, check the dovetail width as some 452s are 11 mm and some are 3/8". I just picked up a nice unfired (not anymore) .17 HM2 American and it sounds like the .17 HM2 models used the 3/8" dovetail for some reason. Go ahead and shoot it, you'll enjoy it!

Some manufactures list their rings as 3/8", but still specify they fit on an 11mm CZ dovetail. The ones I mentioned, are that way. Rings specifically for the 11mm CZ dovetail, may not fit the 3/8" dovetail, since 11mm is slightly bigger.

What fresh Hell is this?

Mach 2 is a great little round. Quiet and does the job nicely on squirrels
