Death Valley Days ,with The Old Ranger.

Then World at War Sunday afternoon. It had only ended 15 years before.

My dad ordered a 20 mule team model from a box of borax and had it on top of the TV set.

We got him first - as Davey Crockett, along with his sidekick Buddy Ebson playing George Russell.

On F Troop, the Indian tribal name got changed. It ended up as Hekawi from 'where the heck are we'. The original name that got gonged was Fugawi.

Only saw Happy Days mentioned a couple times. That was a favorite as a kid.

Little Rascals, The Waltons, All in the Family, Little House on the Prarie, Barney Miller, Laverne and Shirley...and surely others. Wasn't a lot of options growing up back then in Northern AZ out in the sticks in the 70's. We used to say "we get 2 1/2 tv stations!".

The ones that stick out the most in my mind are the outdoors shows I watched with Dad.

Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom...yes.

Gordon Eastman had a show back on in the early 70's...."Eastmans' Hunting TV" or "Eastmans' Hunting Chronicals" maybe? Or maybe it was not a regular thing. But I remember watching a few with the old man, while laying on the carpet, chin in hands, couldn't have been but 6 or 7 years old, marveling at their hunting adventures. I can still hear the lead in music in my head. Can't recall if it was a series or just a few shows, but I never forgot that name "Gordon Eastman", or the vision of his buddy cutting the toes out of his new hunting boots, lol.

A bit later on "Wild America" was a must see.

And later than that, as a young adult, "The Wonder Years". Even as a snot nosed 20-something year old, loved the older feel of that show.

Guns are responsible for killing as much as Rosie O'Donnel's fork is responsible for her being FAT.
