The Corps leading sniper, Chuck Mawheeney, died on Feb 12 2024. With 103 confirmed kills, witnessed by an officer and well over 200 actuals, Mawhenney was one of those men with a rifle that stood on the wall so others could sleep at night. A quiet man, Chuck worked for the US Forestry service and was not widely known until his exploits were recounted in a book about snipers. RIP Chuck https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Mawhinney
