Here's my recently acquired 9.3x62 Husqvarna model 246. I was looking for a few used brass cases and some kind forum members helped me out. I have several double rifles in 9.3 caliber, but don't have a bolt action. I don't have it in hand yet, but look forward to shooting this rare beauty.

As always your comments are welcome ......

I have that exact rifle. The action, a large ring mauser, was made, by FN In I think 1939 or 1940 and only 250 were made. The only difference is that mine has a receiver site. Wonderful rifles.

I intend to list the rifle in the classified this weekend.

Fun fact, though probably not new to anyone:

The FN mauser is so dimensionally similar to an original oberndorf sporting mauser, that the FN bolt will fit in the original:

That’s a nice one! I think that stock is a bit more than “lightly figured”. 😁

I purchased a Husqvarna 9.3 x 62 over twenty years ago from an arms dealer in Shot Gun News. The salesman told me the stock was split from recoil. I ordered it regardless and had my gunsmith repair the stock, free float, and glass bed the action. This was a very affordable purchase as my gunsmith was very affordable at the time. It is the very same rifle and model that Al Miller, back on the late 1980s, wrote about in his " The Indomitable 9.3 x 62 Mause". This launched me on a life long love affair with the 9.3 x 62 Mauser. I killed a cape buffalo and elephant with another CZ 550 American in
9.3 x 62 Mauser. The rifle was borrowed by other hunters. It took two elephants, five cape buffalo, two water buks, and countless wart hogs, and a lot of antelope from small up to kudu. All were one shot kills. The other two guys that used it had rifles that had not arrived in camp and were forced to use my rifle. I was fortunate in taking two dangerous game animals.

Nice rifle! I have one that looks very similar with just a little more blueing wear. Same undrilled FN receiver, bolt handle etc. Barrel sight with folding blades instead of peep. Mine has checkering on the fore end though. Great to carry at about 7 1/4 pounds. I need to dig it out of the safe to compare serial numbers.

I just weighed mine - 7 pounds 13 ounces empty, and 8 pounds 2 ounces loaded. LOP is 14-1/4".
