Prolly my favorite threads on the ‘Fire are the picture threads.
I’m envious of a lot of the members.
To see where they’ve been and what they’ve hunted / fished.
But the pics only capture that moment.
It doesn’t show what they’ve had to do to get there…
The pics don’t show the endless hours they’ve put in their job / business. Or health issues they’ve over come. Or endless training, or other sacrifices they’ve made.
Those are the guys that turn adventures into everyday things without having to say “look at me” or “look at what I’ve got” Well said

It ain't how lucky you are; it's how lucky you think you are. A well developed sense of gratitude is the key.

Probably a lottery winner if we've had any. And if one did win, he/she would likely never post here again. In my case, I'd be way too busy traversing the world in my attempt to spend it down before I died.

2 days ago I took a fall. My head punched a hole in the wall in the drywall. Other side of my head missed striking a tile portion of our shower wall by a small number of inches. I hate to think of what condition I would have been in if I had landed a few inches over.

I don't know how to define or quantify "lucky" for people here. I guess I'd say "the person whose location I'd most like to trade places with" and that's probably one of 3 people. Paul Walukewicz, Brother Dave, or Brother Bill. Sorry should have been clearer. luckiest at things like lotto's, drawing tags that type of luck In that case, I would have to say T_Inman. With the amount of game that cat puts on the ground every year, all over this and other countries, he must be extremely lucky on drawing tags. The best part is, he makes the most of every opportunity and mostly does it solo. Just having the time to do what he does would be a blessing.

Count me out. In the last eight months I've gotten attacked by hornets while clearing brush, totaled my brand new Challenger on the interstate by hitting a 12 point buck and got bitten by a copperhead while repairing a friends plumbing.

P Agreed, but I prefer to call it "blessed". Even better. P Yep, I’ve been blessed and am very grateful for it. I’m going to tag into this line and nominate myself. If you knew me at 27 and the mess I had gotten myself into, you couldn’t predict 20yrs hence that I’d be in the midst of the season of blessing I consider myself in now. Whether it’s my wife (‘09), my kids (2013-19), my job (30yrs), my extended family, our home (paid off Jan ‘23), our property, or my health….it’s all so much better than I deserve. I even get to sneak out west to God’s country and hunt every so often which has been the au jus over the prime rib that is the rest of my life. I can only attribute the pivot that occurred to an accepted invite to church extended by a friend and the message I heard that Sunday which altered the vector of the rest of my life. And this is coming from a life-long, washed-in-the blood Christian. That Sunday changed and possibly saved my life. Add to this living in the greatest country in history despite some of the rot that I hope we are soon in the process of removing from ourselves of in the near future. God bless you men and the USA

I'm sure I am not the luckiest . I do hold my own though. I raised 2 kids and they are not a bit of a problem. I have been married 36 yrs. We had a sick son with breathing problems when he was young, and we have some minor health issues but nothing like some people. I almost 61 and still working 20 hrs a week to pay bills. I live in the upper midwest ( S.E. Wis.) I have 7,000 ac. of public land 4 miles away and has a decent amount of deer on it. The fishing is pretty good just 20 miles away, but can be awsum. I have 4 siblings and all are doing fine. Not one looser. We lost our dad 7 yrs. ago but am grateful to have a dad for 53 yrs. of my life , and mom is still going like crazy. We own land my grandpa bought in 1928, and other properties for fun. All have a home and all are paid for. I am not a " lucky" person when it comes to out of state hunting & fishing ETC. I have made my own " luck" though.. Through all we have been through ( my wife and I are a world apart ) but never got divorced or separated , I save like crazy ,,, she spends, I want to live simple, she wants to travel the world . We have done ok. I live in farm country and like it here, but I hate my job many days. I have 1 yrs. and 3 months for S.S. and a yr. later I can get a small pension... I wont have it made , but I can hunt and fish for pretty cheap...I sleep on an $800 mattress and think of the ones that are on a dirt floor, ones who died in wars, and concentration camps . I am fortunate . No smoking or drinking ,so I never had a drunk driving . My home made retirement find is doing fairly decent .
But the fruits of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gentleness and self control. Against such things there is no law. Galations 5: 22&23

Three votes for Dan. Hands down. Four Brother! Appreciate the votes of support guys, I really do. A tip for those not experienced, being lucky is often far better than being good. It comes into play every time you run out of good. Whether it's good or bad luck is up to the Spirits in the Sky.
I am..........disturbed.
