I've hunted Alabama quite a few times around Macon County and south of Auburn. Haven't been in a few years my old go to place retired and closed up shop. I've had this place recommended to me: https://huntingpineywoods.comanyone know anything about them or have any other recommendations?? Thank you in advance. 163bc

For those prices you can join a really nice club and hunt all season long or at least whenever you wanted to

For those prices you can join a really nice club and hunt all season long or at least whenever you wanted to I live in Alabama and I second this advice. Why pay 2400 dollars to hunt 4 days when for that amount of money you could join a hunting club that would have green patches, shooting houses, and ladder stands that you could hunt from all season. Alabama's bow season starts Oct 15th is joined by gun season in late November and they both run until Feb 10th. That's 118 days to hunt vs 4 for the same money or less.

Everyones situation is different.
For a out of state hunter the cost of the lease is just where you start. It also depends on the lease. Is there a place to stay? Does he have to stay in a hotel or buy a camper? Travel costs and for some it costs not to be at work. Do you have a way to get around on the lease? Does he have his own stands already ?
When your out of state your not hunting before or after work or running out on Saturday for a day or a weekend. How many days can the he be hunting. If he only has a few days to deer hunt then maybe a outfitter or hunting lodge is a better option. Does he plan to do this regularly or is this a one and done hunt?
I live in SW Florida. 9 hrs from my lease in Alabama. Its not cheap to be that far away. Works for me as I hunt about 40 days a year and can work from camp. I have a job I can do from anywhere to some extent. I am single as well. I had been staying at a hotel for about 5 years but bought a small cabin this year. There are other challenges with a long distance lease so not just a lease fee to consider. That said I love my lease in AL.
Life can be rough on us dreamers.

My advice would be to adventure to the Midwest. Enon would be about the only place in this state that would be worth the money. You could take what you would pay a lodge for three days in bama and invest that into a small lease and have better results.
