Mine is a female... every so often she will pretend to not hear a command.... That's when the E-collar goes on and she is reminded that listening to commands is not optional.

Mine are all stubborn! When they start that, I'll just put a training collar on them and they turn into little angels... Don't even have to use it, that it's there is enough.

Rock, we have two schnauzers, can’t imagine having five, ours are small ones, wonderful breed, we have six foot chain link for them to stay safe from coyotes, we have collars if we ever let them run around, but they are runners, don’t trust shock collar’s to stop them before the get into pastures.

Generally, I've found that mine start to grow a brain about 2 years old, maybe a bit less in some cases. Once they finally get out of that puppy stage, they start to obey really well. Still stubborn, and hate to obey sometimes, but still do. I work with them daily. Started hand signals with Baxter awhile back, and he does well with that. The problem starts when my wife has too much time around them. She can spend an afternoon with them and erase 2 weeks training just that quick.  She gets mad when I try and explain that too her and she gets mad. LOL

I may get a large one, loved my lab, but the not shedding is wonderful, are they good around your cattle, do they have that natural head bob that healers have ? 🤠 Our girls are both young, and yes the 6 month old is learning fast, her sister from previous litter is very smart,
