We bought a Honda Pioneer 1000 back in December. Been using it to plow snow this winter. It's a nice machine. I put about 500 lbs in the bed, and it has plenty of ass for pushing snow around the place, and I've been plowing about 3/4 mile of gravel road.
I like the four drive modes. In Turf mode, it's 2WD rear axle unlocked. in 2WD locked rear axle, 4WD front is unlocked, and 4WD Dif Lock it is locked in all four wheels.
Also I like the option of going automatic trans mode, or manual paddle shifting in either high or low range. It's a 6-speed trans, with hi and low range.
Clearly, I’m a hopeless Fudd. I fully expected this thread to be about shotguns. 🫤

I was going to vote for my 1911 Sterlingworth pin gun. 113 years old and still knocking birds down. I’ve shot many rounds of skeet and 5 stand with it and scored quite well with it.
I really like our mule pro mx se. Lock in the front dif and it just pulls. Wish the bed was a tad bigger and don't expect a speed demon (roughly 40mph)

Guess I am getting to old also was thinking fox,or browning or Smith. How ever considering the cost and size of offroad vehicles in question I would just look up a old jeep cj5 , nor much difference in the size and it's street legal.
I was thinking a short bed 2 dr. pickup with 4 wheel drive. They are only about $10,000 more than a comparably equipped SXS and you can drive them on the interstates.

Were you in the news recently for winning the lottery?
I'm a Yamaha guy and 1000% my search for a SxS for hunting/light play would be the Rmax. Was planning on getting one next month but some plans have changed - moving that to next year. I have a wedding to pay for lol.
That said - it's a lot that Yamaha will go a 10 YEAR warranty on their belts.
This. Yamaha doesn't have many (if any) competitors in reliability, IMO.

There sure are a lot of America haters that want to live here...
We bought a used base model Polaris 570 trail. Don't use it for hunting much, just joy riding in the summer and pushing a little snow in the winter. If the snow gets deep enough I use a tractor. Been very reliable. In these parts Polaris seems to far outnumber other brands. Seem to be reliable machines.
Ive had the Honda Pioneer 1000, Can Am Defender HD10, Polaris ranger XP900. If primarily used for hunting the Honda Pioneer is hands down the best. Can Am if for work. I'd go with the one that has the closest dealer just in case you need them and you likely will at some point..
