Very nice rifle Roy.
Back in 2006-2009, I was stationed in Quantico, VA. There was a gun dealer gentleman that had one of these 358 DLs. His main show was the Fredericksburg, VA show. I must’ve handled that rifle four or five times. In hindsight, I probably should’ve bought it. As you can probably guess it was a lot less than what they are going for today. Still haven’t seen another since.
Good luck with it!

Thank you. Everything's more expensive now that they entered the collectible realm. Remember buying Savage lever guns for $350 in good shape?
I have an identical .243 that may be next. Same shape.

Too nice to hunt with or I would consider it.

Good luck on your sale Roy! I went to a small show last Sat&Sunday and did not see too many sales. A guy I know had at least 25 guns and he said he sold a few. His prices were ok. He had a model 12 in 12 gauge. Plain barrel but in 3 inch , $700 asking, fair cond. 2 months ago, same show, more sales.

I am really out of the loop. I knew prices had changed since I bought my last 99 10 years ago, but this did surprise me. It shouldn't have knowing how prices have gone up on firearms I have purchased in the last several years.
A gorgeous rifle and I'm very jealous of whoever the new owner will be. Good luck with your sale and congratulations on having owned it.

The problem isn't finding $800 Savage lever guns, the problem is finding $800 Savage lever guns worth buying. Here's quite a pair. 358 over 243, matching rifles.

Stunning pair! Thank you for the pictures. Please know I wasn't disparaging the price you're asking. Worth every penny for those rifles in that condition!
