Too far left for me! They have some great products but I’m done buying the brand. Pieces of duct tape with MAGA written with a sharpie to cover their label is definitely in order.

Chuinard has always been a socialist schit. Preaches his eco beliefs and makes a fortune selling over priced plastic clothes.

I hit that point 2 decades ago, at least.

Agreed, Patagonia have been a tree hugger anti-hunting company since it's birth.....I wouldn't wear their clothes for free.

I hear you. But he started out selling climbing gear he made himself out of the back of his van. The US consumer market drove him to the high-priced plastic clothes. Analagous to lots of once-good sporting goods stores that now cater to people who don't do a lot outdoors but want to look the part.

I wrote them off years ago as hopelessly marxist and unwilling to ever change.

Personally, I won’t wear any article of clothing that has the manufacturer’s name on the outside. A tag on the inside is fine but if I am going to advertise for them they need to pay me or at least give me the item for free. Otherwise it is nothing more than virtue signaling.

Good luck with that.

I suppose you walk everywhere also? And if you don't you've removed all traces of the manufacturer of your vehicles.

What about your sxs? Did you remove all the John Deere badging and repaint it?

Take the logo off your glasses and sunglasses too?

Grind off the manufacturer's name on your scopes, binos, firearms?

I used to buy their layering stuff at their factory outlet store in Dillon. When Chuinard got to ranting about the president or the right many years ago, I was done. I told the crew no more patagonia stuff. The girls have pretty much abided by that.

All I have is a couple pairs of long johns that are from back when their stuff was still built pretty well.

I love their knitted wool pull over. Years back, I switched to one made by KUIU. Not quite as great but at least not made by a liberal douchebag.

I have a number of Patagonia items, pretty good stuff, but these days KUIU has whatever I would have otherwise bought from Patagonia and I think better overall quality.

In the early nineties I talked to a guy that worked at the climbers ranch in Teton NP and he told me Ivan got a special deal from the parks service to buy his inholding property that is basically verboten for the rest of us. Private property inholdings can only be transferred to family members, but for some reason not for Chouinard. The best thing to ever happen to the "environment" would be for patagonia to shut its doors considering their "carbon" footprint around the world. Just stopping the UPS/Fedex deliveries would be huge not to mention cutting out all the packaging and petroleum based materials in their manufacturing. Wouldn't be surprised if Patagonia has its connections to BHA as well. They supposedly gave money to Steve Rinella in one form or another to support his Meat Eaters series.

Forced?

Or chasing that profit margin? I doubt anyone held a gun to his head.

I say good for him on finding the profit margin to be successful in his market.
That is capitalism at it's best.
But if he's going to spew his liberal propaganda and support anti-hunting causes with his funds, It's my right to never support him again.
That is a right I will exorcise. It is also my right to inform anyone wearing his clothing on what they are supporting by doing so.

Those anti-capitalist sure know how to hide their profits through trusts, LLCs and non-profit organizations for redistribution to progressive causes!
