I like the coonass crowd. Never had a problem understanding them. Lived in Lake Charles for awhile when very young and liked it. 16 years later I lived at Ft Polk….didn’t care for my boss at all, but understand that a fella from Hawaii might not be a good fit there, and would be a bit cranky.

My Dad's expression for a lot of things was "fortyleven". I still use it.
As a lover of language, I dote on not just esoteric words but colloquialisms, idioms, and just plain regional oddities.
