While I am not much of a savage collector, I did run across a very unique rifle that I could not resist. A coworkers father passed and she gave me the opportunity to purchase some of his firearms. I was able to get from her a Stevens 325-C bolt action 30-30. While that may not be collectable, as soon as I saw how compact it is and how its a BOLT 30-30 I knew I had to have it. Not to mention it was in pristine condition. Looks unfired. Should be very fun to mess around with. Anybody know what the value on these are?

Looking at gunbroker sales, $300 to $400 plus shipping/FFL/taxes. A really nice one might go for a bit more, but they were utility guns and aren't highly collectible.
BUT.. they often shoot far better than a utility gun should. I've got a couple in different cartridges, you'll like it.

I had a 340C 30-30 and fortunately for me it was drilled and tapped for a scope. It was a very good cast bullet shooter, good with jackets too. My grandson has it now but I have a eye out for its replacement. All you ever wanted to know and more........ https://www.leeroysramblings.com/Gun%20Articles/stevens_325_savage_340_bolt_act.html

Personally, I have no interest in these rifles, but it seems to me that the link Mac provided would be a good candidate for a Sticky.

We have a Savage 340 in 222rem. For a no frills rifle, it shoots well. It’s popular at the range. The kids love it.

Was my father's only rifle for years the Steven's 30-30 iron sights, he was about 55,Shot a big spike, had to track it close to a 1/4 mile, had hit in the liver, but we found it. He went and bought a 742 06, with a scope and never used it again. I got to shoot it, and hunted one trip with it. It was stolen in a home break in, never recovered. Almost bought a Savage 30-30 back in December, but being a Lefty, I past, nice rifles!

I've had two, a .30-30 and a .222. Could never get either to group tighter than 1 1/2"-2". The only reason I tried to make them shoot was because they were my Dad's, but they went to new homes nonetheless.
