Gentleman I have a Leupold bridge mount on my 600 its somewhat like me a bit worn & tired, ive read some have had a smith drill the extra rear hole to make the receiver accept these rings. Do I have this right? is there enough room where the rear ring would sit to have this done?
Hoping someone here may have done so and can advise me, I would really like two piece rings.
I had a rem 722 barrel in 300 Savage fitted and its very nice little rifle has the dark for end tip, have only seen one or two down here with that wood
Thanks Johno

Yes, this indeed works. The rear bridge has room for a second hole to be drilled/tapped for a Remington Model Seven base. In fact, early Model Sevens only had one rear mounting hole also. My old 660 was drilled for a second rear hole years ago and has worn Talley LW alloy Model Seven mounts ever since.
Now with even more aplomb

Did it on my 660.
Some just use the one hole, and have good results.
If everything stays tight, if the scope tube is stiff enough, if there isn't too much tube behind the rear ring, if it never takes too hard of a smack... it would be just fine.🧐

Thanks Johno I've done several of those. The last one was on an XP100 action...same rear bridge situation as the 600 and early Model 7's. This takes Model 7 two screw bases. Hope this helps. -Al
