Uuhhh...no. It's probably pendejo, and it does not mean inspector.

LOL.

It is Bendjo or how ever you spell it (dumb azz).

I get a lot of flax from other Inspectors when I brag about and tell them what my Mexican name is.

Very few workers that I work with in Commyfornia/ Mexicornia speak English.
So the workers all want to know my name.
I ask them if they want to know my English or Mexican name to the ones that understand English.

I tell them my name is Bendejo.

Everyone gets a laugh and we all go to work

I know exactly what it means to the Mexicans.

The other Inspectors on projects get pissed at me and they can not understand how I get the workers to do what needs to be done to comply with the Codes.

I found a way to lighten a most often tense situation between me an Inspector and the workers to get communications flowing and the job done.

Okay pendejo.

When that wears out, tell them your name is pocho.

Mexicans do have a kind of unique sense of humor.

Almost all of the mechanics (and there were some damned good ones, too) who worked for my grandad were Mexican, and a few spoke no English at all (a John Deere ag dealership on the Rio Grande a few miles down river from El Paso). I was hanging out in the shop from the time I was about eleven years old. My uncle was only five years older than me and by that time was working part time in the shop and full time upon graduation from high school. All mechanics wore a uniform shirt with a name patch, and the gang convinced him that he should adopt a Mexican name for his uniform name patch...one that denoted expertise and exceptional mechanical ability. My uncle thought that was a good idea and solicited name suggestions. Those bastards convinced him that "Bofo" would be appropriate. "Bofo" does not mean what they told him that it meant. What a crew they were!

You could cut diamonds... on them thar nips...

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

My Cousin taught me a long time ago to great Mexicans with
Como Fejoles.

It really does show how much Mexican language I know when I have been mispronouncing my own name all these years.

I will have to start saying Pendajo from now on

I worked one job where this crazy Mexican guy named Ruben knew how to push boundaries in very creative ways. The office ladies were very nice people. One day Ruben grabbed the young gopher kid, who himself was a very innocent and naive specimen of humanity and taught him a question in Spanish. The young man had no idea what it meant. Once the kid had it down, Ruben told him "now go in the office where Camille and Rosemary are and ask them me quieres poner la verga en el fundio?"

I wasn't there when the SHTF, but it had to have been epic. In this day and age Ruben would likely have ended up in handcuffs, but this was the early 80s. Once it blew over, nothing more was said about it.

I studied Spanish for 2 years in high school. Listened to Vietnamese for 2-1/2 years in Nam. Today I’m significantly more fluent in Dinkamese. You no believe GI? tôi giếthis bạn!
