There's a stretch of far western I-20 and I-10 where the speed limit is 80 mph. I have not felt the need to go any faster than that in a long while. when I see DPS troopers along that stretch I imagine them thinking to themselves "WTF am I doing here?" but you just know there's going to be those six or half dozen knotheads who can't comply with a very generous speed limit.
Doing things like that with a trunkload of contraband seems just about as harebrained as a guy can get.
Don't be the darkness.

When I get on the highway, any highway, I'm going 90. It's hard to kill people going in a straight line.

Well of course I would! Those 80MPH postings are only intended for drivers who lack the skill and experience that I possess. I know my capabilities far better than some bureaucrats who seek only to infringe on my God-given rights. Everybody had damned well better stay out of my way as well!

I let my Challenger stretch its legs for a brief moment… 110 is like driving backwards in that car. Damn, my Accord will run 150 even.. So, yes I'm guilty myself. Just don't tell anyone.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Just two years ago I had just bought my 2010 Jaguar XK, heading from Lansing to Detroit on I96 I had the cruise set at 77mph with the top down, when I came up to 3 18 wheelers in a line, pushed the pedal to the metal and that old Jag just took off, when I pulled back in line I looked down to see I was going 115mph, what a great ride that was.

He must be a damn Rookie.
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

The original question asked if you'd drive 110 mph in a 80 mph zone, but the linked news story says the driver was going 101 mph, not 110 mph.
101 in an 80 zone is only 21 mph over the limit. That's hardly newsworthy in terms of the traffic violation.
I see regular instances of laser/radar confirmed 100+ mph in 70 mph zones, 60 mph zones, and occasionally zones with even lower posted limits.

Look at the ethnicity of the name. These people need to be jailed, never allowed out, put in solitary for their life. They have no sense of humanity. MTG

I would think that if someone was doing something illegal they like hauling drugs they would be careful not to get pulled over for something else. It like reading about stupid criminals and thinking I would of done what they did that got them caught. Then I realized I wouldn't be doing the original crime. I would not be hauling the drugs in this case.

The driver was most likely the distraction from the larger load. Stick to dump trucks and waving guns at people whilst posting about it on the Internet.
