Could someone recommend a quality scope mount for a Colt HBAR with removable handle?
I see the old B-Square model has been discontinued. Did they work well?
I'd like to zero-in some loads before some highpower matches.
Thanks. DJB

For Highpower you'll want a low mount.

I like the Pacific Tool https://pacifictoolandgauge.com/1476-scope-mounts
Or for a couple $$ less the Precision Reflex - https://www.precisionreflex.com/scope-rings/58-30mm-cantilever-low-ring-set.html

These are both low enough (1.30" above the pic) that they'll be comfortable in prone and sitting and have enough forward offset to get proper eye relief.

My HBAR is not a flat top although it has a removable handle.
Will the Pacific Tool model work with a factory front sight?
Thanks.

I may be missing something here, but if the handle is removable then its a flat top upper receiver. As far as I know there is nothing in between.

Yeah, Jeff is right. You have a flattop and the PTG will work fine.

You're correct, it does have a flattop receiver but also has a factory front sight.
Thanks.

The front sight will be visible through a scope at 1X, 2X, but not at 4X with most scopes.

I removed the front sight on a couple of my guns with a Sawzall. Make sure you don't have a scope mounted when/if you do that! smile
