Here is a "shooter grade" Model 70 Featherweight chambered in 30-06 for sale. It has factory LOP and composite buttplate. I believe this was made in 1960 (S# 498xxx). The wood doesn't have any cracks but it has been refinished. Also, someone saw the need to add a forearm screw like a standard weight along with a barrel band. The band is loose and could easily be removed and the hole filled in. The barrel has been bedded full length and they guy I got it from claimed it was a sub MOA rifle but I can't attest to that. The rifle retains what I believe to be the correct rear folding sight and sling swivel loops. I have not fired it but it does feed and eject as it should and the S# on the bolt matches the rifle. Pictures tell the story. Payment by check of any kind. This will ship from me (Private party) to your FFL so please make sure they will accept it this way. If you want it, post on here and follow up with a PM. Let's try $1075 shipped and insured to the lowly 48. If anyone from AK is interested I will work with you on shipping costs.

Thank you all very much. That hole in the front of the stock will be easy to fix and this will keep on shooting deer for many years to come.

No, the FW's never had it, just the standards did. I am guessing they were trying to make a 1 inch gun a 1/2" gun with some backyard gunsmithing. Some guys should only be allowed to own a Savage Axis.

I have a jack handle already but Spring is just around the corner and a guy can never have too many tomato stakes laying around.
