This thing has had an easy life, just sitting installed on a Glock 21 in my laundry room pantry for the last five years or so. No rough handling of any kind. I took it off today to check and relube the gun, and the battery door fell off. I see that the plastic hinge has cracked in half.
Considering what these things go for, that's a surprise.
I have no receipt for it, so I doubt they will repair/replace it, but I'll give them a call to see what they say.

My son very recently had an issue (crack in mount) with one of his. No receipt either. He sent it in and they sent him a new replacement.

I've had to use their warranty service and never had a problem without a receipt either.

Covers are cheap. Mine broke when I changed batteries a couple years ago.

Mine did the same thing. I emailed them for a price on a replacement door and they just asked for my address to send me a replacement, no charge.

I'll get laughed at by some for saying this, but look at the OLight Pro Valkyrie. It is a helluva a weapon light and has virtually the same footprint of your TLR-1. Mine only really gets used to any extent at a couple low light IDPA shoots and playing around in classes. I've had mine for 2+ years and I like that it's easy to recharge on the weapon.

Carried one at work for years, never an issue. In fact I don't know that I've ever heard of any coworkers needing to replace theirs. But stuff does break sometimes.
My streamlight stinger just won't die. Years of night shift using it on every call, thing looks pretty rugged, but works every time.

That's disconcerting. About three hours ago I ordered a TLR-1 from Amazon to go on my PC9 carbine. It's intended life is to sit by my bed until needed.
Just googled around for "Streamlight battery cover breaking" and apparently it's a pretty big issue. Looks like Streamlight stands behind it and replaces the battery cover with no questions asked but it might not be optimum to ask my home invaders to wait until they send me a new one. Gonna have to take that up with Pew Pew Tactical for recommending the Streamlight so highly but not mentioning that.
Oh, well, for $150 more - about 50% of the price of the entire carbine - there's always Surefire.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

I have a much older Streamlight that's still going strong. It doesn't even have an LED bulb. But no hing on the battery door, so it's not under stress like the hinged ones.

Odd. Local LE and SO use them as part of their standard issued load out, not a lot of problems, if any.
I personally have swam a few times with my TLR1-HL, and it's certainly been banged around in a holster getting in and out of vehicles, houses, tight hoarder halls and such, with no issues.
Maybe I've just been lucky.

My agency has issued them on our issue pistols, rifles and shotguns for years. We have had few issues with them. When we do have a problem Stream light has been very good about replacement lights and or parts. We are a 300 deputy department. Your mileage can and will vary!

Coincidentally, someone down in the handgun section posted about his experience (identical to mine) almost at the same time as me.

I always post a problem before I"ve even called to see about warranty.
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....
