Hello folks, does anyone have experience with this scope? Is it worthwhile as a budget scope for a loaner/backup deer hunting rifle or are there better options in the price range? I’ve seen some pretty good prices on them so just curious if anyone has any input. Thanks!

I have one that is mounted on a Howa Mini in 6.5 Grendel, so far so good.

Definitely worth what they’re asking for them now…

I have used one on my 308 for the last four years. I have zero issues & am quite impressed with it.

I've had one for 7 years now. Started out on my CVA Optima muzzleloader, and now sets on my grandsons 243. Great glass for a set and forget scope at the price point.

I have an extra Howa .308 in need of a scope so I was thinking of trying one out. How’s the eye box on them?

My experience was less satisfactory. I had one on a Howa 25-06 & couldn’t find a load that would shoot well. Replaced the Whiskey with a Leupold VX3 & the loads that it struggled with shot well.
Mine was clear & I liked the reticle but at least my sample of 1 was squirrely. It wasn’t bad enough to make it clearly broken but 2” groups became 3/4” groups - a huge difference to me after lots of frustration.

I have a 2-7 version. It is not a bad scope at all. My only issue with it is the tunneling. It seems the black border area is much larger than my other scopes…Meopta, Swarovski and Zeiss.

Hello folks, does anyone have experience with this scope? Is it worthwhile as a budget scope for a loaner/backup deer hunting rifle or are there better options in the price range? I’ve seen some pretty good prices on them so just curious if anyone has any input. Thanks! I was hoping to use the 3-9 as a dialer. Tracked and returned to zero on a collimator test. Just did a tall target and it tracked and returned to zero amidst dialing all the way up and back to zero and zooming in and out between shots. But the click values were a little wonky - repeatable though. Of course, the only time I had to do this it was 15 degrees and a good stiff breeze. My paws were numb by the end. This was on a 6 lb 7PRC , 30 shots or so. I've got the 2-7 with well north of 100 shots on the same rifle still holding zero like a champ. I really like this scope even if only a set and forget. I LOVE the illuminated plex reticle. The fat part of the plex subtends perfectly for low light (definitely not a "wide plex"), additional aiming point and wind holds. The illuminated center dot is awesome. As I've gotten older, I've really come to like an illuminated center dot plex reticle. I just bought another 3-9 to put on a rimfire. The illuminated ones are tough to find. Discontinued. I just PM'd you the number of the shop where I got mine. They have one more in stock - $159.

Thanks for the good info, folks. Does anyone know how this scope would compare to a Burris Fullfield II? Sounds like it may be comparable for around the same price?

Some don't like turning the eyepiece to change magnification. And, eye relief is too short.

I love & have several FF2’s. They work in rough elk hunting conditions & a lifetime warranty you likely won’t use. A 4.5-14x42 for $159 on Amazon delivered in 2 days is hard to beat. I’d never give my sig even a solid recommendation the Burris is stellar for the money.
At my insistence a hunting buddy swapped out a cheap vortex & hazy old Leupold for 2 FF2’s. He made a 1 shot 360 yard kill his longest ever. His daughter killed her 1st elk after 10 years. My little anacdote is a small sample but they shot same point of impact the next year as well. I’m a huge fan if you’re limited by budget. I like Zeiss on my hunting rifles but have an ff2 on my AR for example.

That and I had a FFII and it just seemed a little awkward to get behind. With that said though it was serviceable and maybe my expectations were too high for what it cost. I’ve always been partial to the performance of the Redfield Revolution at that price point though.

You can get a Droptine if you have an issue with the FFII eyepiece. Made in the Philippines just like the Fullfield II.
I have no problem regarding eye relief on any of them.
When looking at the Sig Whiskey 3 it lists material as plastic? Are these really made in Japan?
