For sale is a Mauser action in .270 with a barrel of unknown make. I know very little about the rifle, although I’ve had it for 15 years and have never fired it.

Don’t hesitate to ask any questions or request specific pictures.

$425 plus shipping- as some may or may not want the stock.

Looks to be an FN, but that safety lever is different than any of mine. If the barrel is factory, it may have a serial number matching the receiver’s on the right side just in front of the receiver ring. You should check the breech for a “C” ring, which would be a raisin in the cookie, so to speak. Odd stock, but a solid rifle. Good luck!

Does the bolt serial number match the receiver number?

Everything I see is an FN. I personally never ran across 1 with a military safety on it, but it could've been added at some point for who knows what reason.

SN on the bolt handle matches the receiver. 420XX

Ran a hoppes soaked patch through the barrel, then pushed another through with a jag.

A few more pictures…

I figure the stock doesn’t hold much to any value as Michelangelo didn’t do the pig mural.

Would make a darn fine 35 Whelen. Barrel looks big enough and 25” is terrific for the Whelen.

Looks like screw holes are off center? Who cares since someone could make a fantastic rifle from this firearm. Should sell quickly since the action is worth that much alone. Good luck.

I believe that to be due to a poor picture.

The question was asked if the rifle could be chambered in 270 win or 270 weatherby.

A 270 win case will fit in the bolt face and also chamber.

A 7 mag case, which shares the same case head as a 270 weatherby, won’t fit into the bolt face.

If I had the disposable cash, I'd have bought it just for the pig carving. That. Is. Awesome.
