Some preliminary numbers I am hearing, semi-official channels, is 68 homes in Canadian. I know Fritch is really bad for sure. I’m not going to throw out the number I heard because I don’t know, but if true that town is gone.

Geez, I wish I were there. I am old but I still have "skills" and would like to help any way I could. I can at least point and shout what needs to be done.

With the amount of cattle country its burning and how fast its moving, I suspect livestock losses will be astronomical. No doubt. Pretty big place 30 miles S of where we hunt lost 500 or so, as told to me by the foreman down there. Check this out...

Now that the wind is coming from the south, I wonder if they're getting a better handle on containing this thing. Hopefully the northern edge is extinguished. The wind should be kicking up again tomorrow before noon.
What a nightmare.

There doesn't appear to be any Federal agency fire fighting resources involved. Is Biden holding back or is Abbott refusing help.

There is never any federal coordinating agency up here for fires. Closest thing to to that here is Texas Forest Service. We are probably better off without the feds, honestly.
So far only 1 death reported and that was in Stinnett.
News station here is saying over 100 structures burned in the city of Fritch.

Texas Forest Service is a joke. At least the feds know how to fight a fire. Feds typically fall under local control when they show up to fight on private land.
Unbelievable that a fire can get to this size in under two days. A fire moving that fast is almost impossible to fight. I had a friend that was missing a sister, I think they’ve accounted for her now.

News here is reporting BLM, USFS, and USF&W all sending assets and support, as well as Texas Forest Service.

Factor into that everyone wants to be boss....unified command is terrible tricky. You just can't get an Incident management team mobilized in that amount of time.

Trucks will start rolling in from all over US with hay, for people that lost feed or pasture, country people are all the same no matter how far, it’s amazing to see how good. I helped with some donations towards that end. Hay is kinda scarce right now too... A bad dry season, last summer, across a big part of the country is gonna make this worse. If there's a way or a place to donate someone please post it up I'm sure there's several. I know this one will channel directly to the cattle. https://tscra.org/disaster-relief-fund/
