bought a 17hmr upper from them. works fine but have waited 2 weeks for a response back on a question of what aftermarket triggers work with them. Customer service non existent

Im a Ar novice and have been thinking about picking up one of their 22mag or LR uppers.
Why would a after market trigger affect the upper?

I"d call again RE the question and answer. I"ve been lucky and someone has always answered when I called.

I had to take a bit off the top of one hammer to make it clear. Dont' recall the brand. IIRC when I dropped a new MBT one in it worked fine.

My .22 mag upper has worked very well, one stovepipe in something over 100 rounds so far. It’s very accurate, and so far has put everything I’ve fired through it in very nearly the same spot at 50 yards, from 30gr to 50. I put it on a PSA EPT lower. If (when) I buy another lower, I’ll get one with a better trigger and see how it does with that.

Not a RF, but yesterday I shot another BC side-charger, a .223 Wilde 20” SS, and it made a couple 1/2” 50-yard 5-shot groups with some handloads. Gonna try and stretch it out a bit tomorrow under dry, calm conditions, not the monsoon we had yesterday.

They used to be pretty good. I bought a 350 legend upper from them and it was delivered quickly.

Finally got a hold of them, the answer was none will work. so looks like a jp trigger and stock hammer is about as good as it gets

A range acquaintance has their .22 LR and .22 Mag. The LR had ignition issues until he put in a heavier hammer spring. He told me they pretty much need a Milspec lower, and at least one YT video I’ve seen seems to confirm that. That reviewer had issues with his lower that featured an aftermarket trigger, forget which.

Appears I may be one of the lucky ducks with no issues thus far with my two. Any company putting out budget stuff is going to cut some corners, like QC, function testing etc. Even the big boys do it on their cheap stuff. Overall it’s more economical to fix the whoopsies than do the QC, annoying as that can be for the poor schlubs that get the problems. I can deal with a heavy trigger as long as it’s smooth.

Thats true. Its a 22lr. But I can't see there being any difference. Could be wrong though. If so its another reason of WTF do you want a 17 for anyway. LOL.

I may have to call and ask next week if I get time. See what the difference is if any.

I'm thinking that since one of my old tall hammers hung up and had to get knocked back a bit thats whats happening on yours too. A new trigger solved mine, IIRC a MBT trigger went in it, if not it was an RRA NM trigger. I was being tight and trying to use up an ancient armalite trigger IIRC.

I have 4 of their Complete Uppers, ALL are 100% reliable from factory. I have their 22LR Side Charger Upper, it's the cat's ass for fun, damn good shooter too! The rule for ANY rimfire cartridge is Mil Spec triggers, as the harder hammer springs in them, are needed for reliable ignition. Same goes for my 7.62x39 M4 Upper, as the crappy foreign ammo has hard primers, the milspec springs set them off EVERY time.

My son inlaw received a 22 mag this week. We mounted the scope and took it to the range. Was shooting ok until the barrel came loose from the receiver. There were no instructions or manual included. There is a screw in the back end of the rail. Not sure what it does. I will be calling for him tomorrow as he is on the road. He was pretty disappointed. The other issue was there was a issue in picking up a round from the mag a couple times. It maybe the barrel was turning enough to miss the rim..

That screw replaces the charging handle on a conventional upper, and blocks any gas that might find its way to your face. You need to remove it and the bolt handle to remove the BCG for cleaning, though mine runs very clean. They put an O-ring on it but it’s not really necessary.

Gotta be sure the mag is seated fully for proper feeding. I’ve had a couple misfeeds so far with 50gr Federal ammo, but haven’t identified the cause yet as my initial reaction has been to clear it rather than diagnose it.

Don’t recall if mine came with a book, but I watched their videos on disassembly and found it easy. Be certain to tighten the screw retaining the bolt handle properly and check it once in a while before shooting. I bought a t-handle one (5/32) to keep in the bag. Hasn’t come loose yet, unlike the previous version.

No doubt they’ll want that one back for repair or replacement. As I said earlier, budget stuff sometimes gets short shrift on QC, but they’ll take care of it. At least you can simply mail it back.

I got ahold of someone this morning. Im going to tighten the barrel. The rep gave me the tourqe specs. They don’t come with manual so I wll watch the video.
I may have to pickup one for myself.
