La Tour Eiffel. Been to Paris 11 times over the years. The tower is a presence from certain neighborhoods in the city, one looks up and it’s just there. Climbed the 162 steps to the Statue of Liberty’s crown during a trip to NYC in the early 1960’s. Used to have the red ticket stub. Was also on the observation deck of the Empire State Building on this trip.

First time we were there the top was closed due to ice. We made it to the second landing where the ice skating rink is in the winter. Next time we were there when it opened and made it to the top. It takes to separate elevators to make it to get there.

I went to Paris when I was around 5 and went to the top observation deck. I'm unsure if they let people up there any more. I lived in New York until I was 9 and only went to the Statue of Liberty right before we moved to Georgia. I also went to the Twin towers the same day. I took the kids back to New York after 9-11 and we planned on going to the State of Liberty but this was right after hurricane Sandy and it was closed. Some where I have a picture of me standing at the eternal flame at the Arc De Triomphe . Shame what has happened Paris since the government and people became woke and let the muzzles take over.
A bowhunter at heart but a gun guy at soul. I'll take craftsmanship, wood and blue steel over plastic and composite any day.
