1949 production. Very clean with only a minor ding in the stock near the action and near the end. Blueing is fading on the bottom metal. The rest of the metal is impeccable. The bore is pristine. I took this out and made first or second round hits out to 600 yds with noser 165s. Video evidence if you need proof. Those three extra holes for the side mount are whats killing your deal. Otherwise its a beautiful, functional rifle. Every 721/722 ive ever seen was factory d&t on top of the receiver.

That rifle and caliber was my first rifle, sometime around 1959 and 60. I killed several elk and deer with it. I still have it to this day, however its now a 35 Whelen with an upgraded stock, and scope. I no longer hunt with it, but keep it.

If this was a lefty, it would be on it's way to me already. Would be perfect for a JES 35 Whelen rebore I've been wanting to do! While there are other rifles I would prefer for this, you simply cannot beat this price.

Picked up gun today a very nice old Remington. Will scope and let grandson sight in. It will be his. This is going to be a meat getter. He loves to hunt and eat. 13yr's old.
