Well, they cut down the units big time for this fall. Last fall I was one of 950, out of 35,000, who didn't get the draw. This year with the reduced units, I pull a permit. Go figger.
Problem is, its private land only, further south than my normal turf. BUT, today I learned I may have a line on a few spreads with known flocks in the unit I got. My scouting will be nearly non-existent, but I'll have the input of the landowner, which is better than nothing.
I'd be happy with a hen or jake, gobbler would be more luck than usually comes my way. Hope springs eternal.
