My male wire hair does the same exact thing. Now if your dog is also a kleptomaniac, our dogs could be siblings.

My Australian cattle dog sleeps with one eye open it is weird but she is asleep. As they say, they are always watching, always!

We had a Golden that would sleep with one eye open, was kinda creepy when she'd go into a deep sleep her eye would roll back and the white would show, Lol, it would gross my daughter out to no end.
On a side note, I had a gal that I hung with that I'd have to sleep with one eye open!
