I am looking to trade ONLY for a Savage 340 30 30.

Your 340 must be factory drilled and tapped for a scope mount (read no holes drilled in the Savage receiver lettering) and the factory walnut stock relieved for a scope mount. No scope is required, however I will consider your mount. Or not.

Yes, I am particular regarding all of the above.

Pics and details will be exchanged with trader provided they meet at a minimum the above. Be prepared to do likewise via pm or text.

No other trades will be considered unless you want to trade your Win 54 30 30 carbine or offer a rediculous amount of cash for my 788.

I would have to dig this one out and see if it is factory drilled for a scope. You seem well versed in these so maybe you call tell just by the model. It is unaltered and unfired. If it is of interest let me know.

That is a 325. The predicessor to a 340. The "spoon" like bolt handle, as it is refered to, gives it away.

Probably not drilled and tapped, but look if you have a chance.

Fwi, I passed on very nice 340 listed here a few weeks ago simply because it wasn't d and t and I couldn't bring myself to ruin it by doing so.

that 325 is probably much more accurate than any of the 340's.
have had many of both and the 325's were always crazy accurate.

You gotta be one of the coolest dudes on the ‘Fire! Did your grandpa own a sporting goods store or something way back when? The old stuff you bring out never ceases to amaze.

Thanks. Hard to tell if it is prepped for a scope. Yours?

Nothing has come along so I am reversing my OP trade offer. The Rem 788 is no longer available for trade. I am however, continuing to look for a Savage 340 30-30.
