Buddy of mine passed away about a month ago. At his “celebration of life”. His wife Jen was passing out dollars to the grandchildren who were shooting dice. Heavy Metal was playing and bbq was served. He was a bit rough around the edges for the elites which is why he was a good dude! Anyway, here’s his obituary:

Quote
Hey man, Shannon passed away at 56 listening to his favorite tunes with his favorite people. Shannon is survived by his Leatherman, guitar collection, and his American-made truck. It’s a major bummer that he won’t be here for the discovery of bigfoot or the reelection of Donald Trump. He provided for his family by shifting gears and passing steers. He was able to medically retire from a million-dollar eye wound at 50, he never saw a nickel of that million dollars.

He spent his retirement with life’s simple pleasures of loving his green-eyed girl Jenny, with whom he was married for 30 years, and his grandkids Aiden, Brooks, Averie; his kids Jordan, Sierra and Tyler, Brad and Teri, and Dallon and Savannah. He spent time with his dog Kado, playing his guitars, watching YouTube, and deconstructing conspiracy theories. He had an extensive Vudu Fandango collection of 455 movies. He always stayed strapped and loved going to the shooting range with the boys. He loved going to concerts with his wife and kids. Some of his favorites were Eric Johnson, Rush, Paramore, The Police, Weird Al, and John Mayer. He loved watching RiffTrax with his son Jordan. He never said no to a trip to get ice cream at Leatherbys.

Shannon ripped himself away from the Grim Reaper 28 times from defibrillations and lifesaving CPR by his son Brad. He beat many obstacles throughout his life and had a strong work ethic. So basically, he was John Wick. He always remained positive through every trial and made us laugh through everything. He wanted us to celebrate his life by loving each other and keeping the humor alive.

He had many best friends that were also his nieces and nephews, he had a special connection with each one. He had an inside joke with everyone he met. His siblings were very important to him. He was adopted by his aunt and uncle along with his identical twin/best friend Shawn and grew up with Kathy, Chris, Teresa, and Officer Becca. He later got to know his brother Brian and they shared their love of music. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Dee, dad Les, mom Elaine, father-in-law BJ, brother Brian, and many other loved ones.

He always said he wasn’t a smart man, but he did know what love is. Just to add another Forrest Gump quote “Death is just a part of life. It’s something we’re all destined to do.”

If you would like to attend, our super dead dad’s celebration of life will be held at The Peach, 311 S. Main St. Tooele, Utah, March 2, 2024, from 2 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers vote for Donald Trump in Shannon’s honor. One of his greatest fears was voting Democrat after death.
